THE HIGHLIGHT EDIT

This is a few of my highlighters from my collection that I think are worth it. Sorry about lack of posts, I started University this week and it's made me busy, busy, busy! I'm not used to it after a few months of doing nothing!! Early starts and late finishes are exhausting me! But anyway back to the highlighters... You may notice that there's a lot of NARS and that's because I went through a phase when it was all I bought! I am now trying to branch out and try other brands! One that I'd love to hit up is Hourglass, I think I'll have to pick up more overtime at work for that though! Being a student on a budget is hard when all you want to buy is high-end makeup!

Daylight with a flash

MAC | STROBE CREAM
£24.50
I think that this Strobe Cream would look perfect mixed in with foundation or placed on the top of the cheekbones. It will create that perfect 'Strobing' look! The MAC site suggests that it's a moisturiser for under makeup, however I think that this product is very versatile and can be multi-purpose! Who doesn't love multipurpose? Smells lovely too! Its a pleasure to use!

NARS | ILLUMINATOR COPACABANA
£23.00
'Glistening Pearl'
This one is a bit thicker than the MAC one so you probably won't need as much product. It is a slightly more silver tone than the MAC Strobe Cream which compared seems to have a sheer pink iridescent. Again, you can mix it in with foundation, apply before hand or use on top of foundation. I love to mix this in with my foundation to create a dewy look.

NARS | ILLUMINATING MULTIPLE VIOLET ATOM
£29.00
'Sheer iridescent violet'
A multipurpose product perfect for creating a violet glow (much like the name)! NARS Multiples are great for everything, there's so many colour options and they're easy to use. To create more of a sheer look than above you can use the product wet to create a great sheer glow! I like to use this one when I'm doing a pink/purple eye as it compliments it well!

SOAP AND GLORY | GLOW ALL OUT
£11.00
'Moonlit' look
Out of all of my picks this Soap and Glory product is the pink-est toned of them all! This ones great for an everyday natural glow and highlight on the cheeks! You can even use it all over as a powder to create a glow all over and it doesn't look OTT. Theres tiny flecks of shimmer in this one, but not too much to make you look like a glitter ball! This is also the cheapest of all the products mentioned!

MAC | MINERALIZE SKINFINISH LIGHTSCAPADE
£24.00
Personally I really love a white-toned highlight on the tops of my cheekbones and this creates the perfect dramatic look when built up. I own MAC Soft and Gentle however, I think that this one tops it. It takes less product to create an impact which means that Lightscapade would last longer (for me). MAC always produce lovely packaging and I think this one is my favourite packaging purely for accessibility, and its easy to see what colour it is in my collection.

NARS | HIGHLIGHTING BLUSH ALBATROSS
£23.00
'Luminous Glow'
This was my first highlighter ever! I love the white/gold toned glow that this creates on the cheekbones. It's also very pigmented so you won't need a lot of the product on the brush. I also like to use this one as an eyeshadow and brow bone highlight.

NARS | DUAL INTENSITY BLUSH JUBILATION
£30.00
'Sparkling Yellow Gold Highlighter /Shimmering Soft, Nude Peach'
You can use this product wet or dry (the swatches are dry). I think that these are good value for money as you get two shades in each blush which compliment each other well. These are also well pigmented and when wet create a lovely sheer glow.

LAURA MERCIER | FACE ILLUMINATOR INDISCRETION
£31.00
'Soft Rose Gold Shimmer'
LIMITED EDITION
This one probably contains the most shimmer/ glitter of all of these picks, however it creates a perfect glow. It has a rose gold look which creates a more subtle look than a gold highlight. The packaging on this one makes it the prettiest looking highlighter I own.

KEVYN AUCOIN | THE CELECTIAL POWDER CANDLELIGHT
£35.00
'Soft, Golden-apricot Hue'
The original product. Kevyn Aucoin influenced brands such as MAC, Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier to create products similar to his that he had created years earlier. Contouring/ highlighting he used originally on drag make up and brought it to the everyday make up look. The best highlighter I have ever used, not too much glitter in this product and it creates the perfect look on the cheekbones. The packaging is also lovely and the button to open the compact makes for easy accessibility. It also comes in a little velvet pouch adding to the luxury!

Ps - Do you guys like the new way of photographing the products and the text on the image?! I think it makes everything that bit easier to know which product is which!!

What are you favourite highlighters???
Thanks,

Laura x
