CONTOUR 101

These are a few of my favourite high(er) end matte bronzers that I use for creating a contour. I find that my matte products work better for contouring as theres no reflects of glitter or shimmer to catch the light within them. Meaning that they do work to create shadow and make those parts of your face really sink in.

NARS | MATTE MULTIPLE ALTAI
£29.00
This is my favourite NARS Multiple that I own and this is the second one that I've purchased in this shade. In fact I was on the hunt for it for about 3 months as it was out of stock online and in my nearest stores. The colour Altai is a perfect colour for contouring on my face and I've recommended it to many friends. As this is in a stick form it's easy to apply onto the face in the places that you would like to contour. It's a very creamy product, making easy to blend out making it perfect for beginners.

NARS | BRONZING POWDER LAGUNA
£27.50
This was one of my first ever NARS purchases and its been a trusty favourite since 2012. Still going strong on my second pan of this gorgeous shade. I find that this bronzer is very universal, in that it suits most skin tones. I layer this on top of the Matte Multiple mentioned above for a very dramatic look however, used alone it can be very natural when used lightly.

LAURA MERCIER | MATTE RADIANCE BAKED POWDER BRONZE 03
£25.00
I'd say that this bronzer is the most orange of them all on my skin tone without a tan. With a tan this looks gorgeous when contouring under the cheekbones and on my temples. Since there is no shimmer in this product at all it works well to create a shadow. You also get a lot of product in this compact which makes it good value for money as it's one of the cheapest options in this post.

BENEFIT | HOOLA BRONZER
£23.50
I find the Benefit Hoola bronzer not as orange as my other products, such as the Matte Multiple and the Laura Mercier baked powder,. This powder can easily replicate what a real shadow under my cheekbones would look like. I do find the packaging bulky as my other products are slim and easy to store, however I appreciate that it comes with a mini brush making the packaging need to be larger. I do find this product a little bit harder to use than my other flat pan bronzers as, for me, the lid just gets in the way. But it is a gorgeous bronzer and I'm willing to look over the packaging issue.

KEVYN AUCOIN | THE SCULPTING POWDER MEDIUM
£35.00
I swear that I go on about this powder all the time. I've mentioned it in many a post since purchasing this product. BUT it really is worth it if you're after a more ashy toned contour than the ones previously mentioned in this post. I have to be honest I do reach for this one the most out of all my matte bronzers for contouring as it just looks amazing on my skin. The greyer tone helps to reflect what a real shadow would look like instead of it looking like a muddy mess on your cheeks. As mentioned before my only issue so far with this product is the size. I do just wish there was more product in this tiny compact.

What are your favourite contour products?

Thanks,
Laura x
