Desk-Side Beauty

Long time no speak. Welcome back! Since finishing university I've spent a lot of time in-front of the computer job hunting, browsing LinkedIn, replying to e-mails and other admin based activities (obviously with a little distraction of social media and Pinterest). Since I've spent so much of my time at my desk I think it was only appropriate to create a post about what I have to hand whilst I'm there.

First thing is first. A bunch of hair bands and hair clip. Having long hair means it can get in the way or drive me crazy sometimes. I like to clip the hair out of my face whilst I'm working as this makes it easier to get jobs done without being distracted by crazy fly-aways. Putting my hair up or clipping it out of my face improves my concentration almost immediately.

Another MUST HAVE is a good lip balm. Theres nothing more annoying than having dry, chapped lips whilst trying to get on with tasks. Obviously I have the Glossier Balm Dotcom Original within reach. I just find that this lip balm gets the job done quickly and simply and the packaging also looks super cute in my desk.

There is nothing worse than dry hands and broken nails with nothing to fix it to hand. I always have a hand cream and nail file in my drawer for emergencies. I'm obsessed with Byredo and these hand creams smell insane. I have Suede and a travel size Gypsy Water for taking in my handbag. The consistency of these hand creams don't leave you feeling greasy or slimy. They dry into your skin perfectly leaving you feeling fresh, smelling great and smooth. If you haven't tried them I highly recommend you do.

Working from home means I don't really put make up on most days but having a good brow gel and powder helps me to feel refreshed and more put together on days where I need it. My go-to products are the Glossier Boy Brow in Clear/ Blonde and the Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre in Translucent 1.

Hot summers day? Sweltering in the heat? I cannot live without the Omorovicza Queen of Hungry Mist. A good hydrating spray is a cult product for hot summer days for a good refresh and cool down. It also smells great and the mist function that it has doesn't make you jump with a camel spit action but creates a fine delicate mist.

Last but not least for my desk-side beauty, I like to have a few mini fragrances testers as smelling great is always going to help productivity!

What do you keep in your desk?

Thanks,

Laura x
