A/W16 BACKSTAGE BEAUTY

This post is a little bit different to my usual content but I thought it'd be fun to look at the A/W16 Beauty trends and pick out my favourites.

CHANEL
For me the make up that did it was this Chanel look created by Tom Pecheux. He created a "quilted" eye look with grey eyeshadow. The eyes obviously fit in well with Chanel's signature look but they're also very eye-catching but at the same time subtle. You could create this with fishnet tights placed over the eye before applying shadow. I do think that this look is actually very wearable, you might get a few looks but thats only because of your amazing make up skills right?

GIAMBATTISA VALLI
This mostly natural look was created by Val Garland for Giambattisa Valli. The make up contained a bare face with either a stripe of silver glitter under the brows, like the image above of Gigi or like other models, silver on the eye lids otherwise remaining completely bare-faced. I loved this simple look however I think I'd have to add some mascara and concealer as not everyone is blessed with Gigi's face.

BALMAIN
The beauty focus for Balmain was also one of my favourites as I'm all about the glowing healthy look. Tom Pecheux created this look focusing on the skin, involving contoured cheekbones and a glowing complexion. Having a neutral, glowing look can make for a beautiful skin envy from everyone.

CHRISTIAN DIOR
Peter Philips created this bold make up look at Dior. I really love the blackcurrant lip as it's slightly darker than anything I'd normally wear. Having an almost black hint within the lip helps to bring something more than just your standard berry winter lip. The minimal eye make up; meaning just mascara, helps to bring the focus onto the lips but also balances the face.

GIORGIO ARMANI
Armani were all about those cool tones when Linda Cantello created the above image for their A/W16 show. The grey smokey eyes paired with the grey brows work in perfect harmony together, although you would have to be brave to go out rocking grey brows. The soft pink lips help to bring the look back down to earth.

GUCCI
This look created by Pat McGrath was all about the natural flush. There was a coral hue buffed onto the high points of the cheekbones. This is a new take on applying the blush and I think it looks stunning. The make up gives the model a very healthy and youthful glow.

FENTY PUMA BY RIHANNA
This perfect skin and bold black lip created by Pat McGrath for the Fenty Puma by Rihanna show. The black lip isn't for everyone, you obviously have to be brave but I think it looks stunning here. Having it paired with a natural base like a lot of the other make up looks really helps to make it pop. It's almost like just wearing mascara but its on your lips haha!

I've taken a glowing base, possible dark lip and a pink blush from the A/W16 Backstage Beauty. It's also inspired me to break away from my everyday make up to try be a little bit more creative with techniques and styles.

Hope you've enjoyed this little insight to A/W16.

What was your favourite look?

Thanks,
Laura x
