FIRST IMPRESSIONS: MAKEUP GEEK

So right now I should really be doing my final touches to my University work, which has a deadline for next week, BUT my Makeup Geek order came and I got very excited. Makeup Geek eyeshadow's have been talked about for ages, so naturally I was dying to get my hands on them and see what all the fuss was about. I had been umm-ing and ahh-ing for months at what shades to get. But when Beauty Bay added them to their site I just had to purchase them.

They retail at $6.00 / £4.95 (On BeautyBay).

This was the site after I had placed them into my Z-Palette. I think this picture tells a thousand words about how excited I actually was to get these babies! I actually got half way into one and stopped myself for a picture, blogging duties! This picture does make me laugh.

So I did also buy a Z-Palette after debating not getting one and finding a dupe somewhere else. I looked at all the reviews and was pleased with what people had said about them. I was very worried about the quality, as I assumed they were just cardboard. I'm delighted to tell you all that they're actually very well made and don't feel cheap in your hands. I was going to get the leopard print design however I decided to play it safe with black. I decided on the Large Z Palette which, I think, holds 27 eyeshadows, but the description says 28. I also got a little pack of magnets to sick onto the back of the pans if the brand didn't already have a magnet in the bottom.

Now, how I decided on which shades. I must admit I didn't buy every single one off of my wish list as my bank account would have looked rather empty. I made my list by watching youtube tutorials and noting which ones popped up the most (meaning they're loved so I'll love them). I also read blogs and looked at swatches, which I found very helpful! I decided on lots of matte shades as I really want to work on my transitions when completing eye looks.

I am dying to get some brighter shades and some foiled ones as well! Someone please just lend me all the money in the world!

When swatching these I noticed how creamy they are and how they just glide onto the skin. They seem like they'd be a pleasure to blend and I'm so very excited to use them!!

Have you tried Makeup Geek? What are your favourites?

Thanks,
Laura x
